the first time I cried in her arms was outside by the coffeehouse I was baptized that night in tears of new life passed from my mother to the love of another born again love falls from heaven like manna to the desert in our wanderings I tried to hoard it but it spoiled in the morning so I complained to god rather never love at all than to lose it I wish that I could machine things by my own sheer will as hard as I try it only seems I find I am powerless to cause the way in which I'm loved or left behind the last time I cried in her arms I asked why she was breaking me apart now I need to put it all back together again
